Overnight results

Overnight to 3 October Russia attacked Ukraine with 157 strike UAVs of Shahed and other types. By 09:00 air defences had neutralised 131 of them, the Air Force said, according to Ukrinform, Ukrainska Pravda and Suspilne.

Aviation, surface-to-air missile troops, electronic warfare and UAV units, plus mobile fire groups, took part. Hits were recorded at 12 locations and falling debris at five.

Attack mix

Ukrainian media report jet-powered Shaheds and decoy drones such as Gerbera among the launch package. Open Ukrinform quotes of the Air Force summary give the totals — 157 launched, 131 neutralised — without a full type-by-type breakdown.

Aftermath

Even with a high interception rate, some drones still reach targets or crash in towns — the backdrop for infrastructure strikes and for the Haivoron road fatality the same day.

Why it matters

“131 of 157” measures both air-defence capacity and the pressure of nearly 160 strike drones in a single night — and why Kyiv is racing for cheaper interceptors and better jamming against jet Shaheds.
